We always had a problem sitting at the table outside at night and chatting with friends because if we put the outside light on the bugs were insane but this light is perfect, if gives just the amount of light you need to sit around the table outside at night and chat.AND no bugs!!!!

We bought this new 'umbrella light' because our old one had started to fail, the battery wasn't holding its charge & because its outside all the time both near a pool & in the rain it had got wet/damp on numerous occasions, but it had lasted well.

Anyway we got this new one, & I must say the brightness of the lights is amazing, the rechargeable battery is holding its charge very well, actually I don't think I've had to charge it yet & I've had it over a week with 4/5 uses each evening, its obviously much better (as would be expected for a new unit), anyway it lights up a very wide area too, not only for those in the immediate vicinity of the umbrella but for those sitting outside of the umbrella's main seating area too, you can clearly & easily see peoples faces etc making it easier to hold a conversation.

All in all a great light that does a great job of illuminating a wide area, a little more expensive than others yes, but sometimes you get what you pay for & this in my view is one of those occasions where paying a little more is worth it.

Bought this as a gift for friends. Have one myself and it is an easy-to-use and handy gadget for dining at an outside table with an umbrella.
Also being rechargeable is a plus.
