This is an all-foam futon. It would probably be fine on a futon sofa-bed or for a guest room bed that is seldom used. For every day use it is not adequate. When it first arrived, it felt fine. After a month, I could feel the center brace in my full size platform bed. It wasn't much longer before I could feel the slats. I sleep on my side and that center beam digs into my hip. The foam has simply compressed too much and does not bounce back quickly.

I have started flipping the mattress every time I change the sheets. If that works I will update. I am expecting that I will have to buy a memory foam mattress topper, which will eat up the cost saving over a thicker futon mattress. For full time use on a platform bed you will need a better mattress.

Not a soft mattress. It's more like 4 1/2 to 5 inches thick even after giving it a month to expand. It's fine as a firm futon. I haven't used it as a bed. I was trying to purchase an economical futon mattress so maybe it's ok for the price point.

I got two of these assuming they would be what they are shown in the pictures. But I ended up getting two mattresses that are nothing like what is shown in the pictures. I got cloth covers filled with some cheap material inside. Though it turned out that I can use the mattress, but I am terribly disappointed at amazon for cheating. I am not sure what to do.
